The A World

The A World UK CIC Is A Non-Profit Organisation Supporting The Autistic Community Across The North Of England.

For the last two years I am proud to have been supporting The A World in their goal of raising awareness and acceptance of Autism.

Initially the relationship started with a commission to photograph a small event celebrating the support offered by carers of individuals with Autism. This event at Bolton Whites Hotel was a true party evening with dancers, musicians, DJ’s and a meal. The brief was to record high quality, engaging and fun imagery of people enjoying the event and highlight the marketing materials in the space so the organisation can use the images in future funding raising and engagement drives.

This was quickly followed by trips to Gulliver’s World theme park, Blackpool Heritage Trams and Eureka! children’s museum.

Each time the brief to normalise the interactions and pre scene of autism but also to celebrate the services provided by The A World as well as give the families an opportunity to have their own record of the day out.

My history of studying representation in photography, working within the third sector myself and a desire to provide an accessible service has resulted in consistent positive feedback from both The A World and it’s clients.

This year The A World is again doubling the size and quantity of events that it provides, testament to the success of their work supported by these images.
