Trolleyed

Trolleyed is an ongoing photographic project documenting abandoned shopping trolleys across Salford. Drawing on the framing and visual conventions of British pictorial landscape, Harley treats these discarded objects as features of the landscape rather than incidental debris.

Removed from the commercial spaces they were designed to inhabit, the trolleys become traces of consumption within shared public space. Their repeated presence reflects the tension between individual convenience and communal responsibility, using an ordinary object to explore the wider influence of consumerism and material culture.
